Hello Freckle,
I would be delighted to receive information on the following burial at Moree Cemetery:
William Taylor died 1894
Thank You
Cassandra Lake Macquarie
-
Hi Cassandra,
no William Taylor listed with that death year. Only 2, one in 1916 age 41, the other in 1952 age 63.
Sorry, it is supposed to be all internemnts in this book, but I suppose some of the older ones may be missing.

Hello
Thank you for this info. Do you have the birth date of Jason and John Edmond. Also, I would like the details of any other Haddads and Lahoods (including Bernadette) buried in Moree Cemetery. As I am doing family history I need birth dates for my records.
Thank you for your time.
Janny

Hi Janny,
the book doesn't give DOB and they are the only ones listed in it.
Unless its on the grave stone which I have no access to. Phoning the Cemetery may shed some light, I found them quite helpful.

sorry Cattao, neither are listed under Moree Shire cemeteries.

Catherine Parsons d 1873
I understood the Moree Shire records for cemeteries under their management are only from 1903 onwards. Perhaps Freckle could check :)
Transcriptions of Robert's and Catherine's death certificates will give you their places of burial.
Scroll down to Transcription Agents. Costs is c$20 and the transcript is emailed. Has the same information as a certified certificate and is a much cheaper option.

Is it the book published by a local history society?

No Cando, issued by the Moree Plains Shire Council, so should be all. They are very helpful if Cattao wants to phone them. I'm in Brisbane at the moment.

Just to let you all know. i rang the council on Friday 25/9 and struck the most unhelpful person I have ever talked to! The girl had no idea of the book I was talking about. I spoke to the Library lass who gave me a number to ring re the Gwydir Family History Group and a contact said he would check out what they have and get back to me. I have a contact in Moree so will work on them to get mofre info.

I need help looking for a R Bailey who was in or around Moree in 1960, other than that it is the proverbial needle in the haystack
Maggi

Hi Maggie,
one, Ross Bailey, died 14 August 1990 age 62. Sound like him?
cheers
Freckle
-
I hope so. It is his wife that I want to find as she was noted in an obituary for her sister but I had accounted for all the girls and no one was married to a Bailey. So any advice on where to look next would be appreciated
-
Just found on another site I am looking for a Stanley R Bailey, which still could be him if his R stands for Ross, so will try further investigations now
-
Hi Maggi,
not up on Moree I'm afraid and don't know the rest of the history for your lot. There is no one listed being with him but he was cremated.
Couldn't find him there on 1980 electoral roll. Did find a Stanley Richard Bailey at Coffs in 1972 living with Gloria Jean Bailey. Also Robyn Louise Bailey with them. Perhaps if you put the problem to the clever chatters someone may have an idea.

Possibly, his gravestone mentions the army.

His RAAF number matches up with the plaque notation, and the Nominal Roll gives a next of kin,
But I think the OP is looking for a different person.
Cheers, JM
-
Maggi,
Can you confirm that you already know that your person of interest is no longer living?
Cheers, JM
-
Sorry JM I have no idea if he is living or deceased

Just checked Ancestry again and one of the other researchers has put the name (Roy) on her file so I will follow that line and see where it leads
Many Thanks to all who helped

I have an Isabella Enid Forrester born near Walgett about 1876. Her mother was Louisa Evelyn Keller (alive at Isabella's wedding in 1901) and father Roderick Forrester (deceased in 1901). Wondering if there are any entries in the Moree Shire Cemeteries for any persons with the surnames Keller or Forrester?
Thanks :)
-
Hi there,
From Grevilles 1875 Directory for Wallgett (notice the spelling there :) )
W J FORRESTER a squatter at Gumblegubbin.
none with the surname Keller listed under Wallgett.
From the NSW Electoral Roll for 1870 for The GWYDIR
none with the surname KELLER and the following are
all surnamed FORRESTER in the Walgett Police District :
George, residing Sydney, qualified as a leaseholder, Bundabarina, Barwon River
Robert, of Gumblegubbeni, residence, Narran River
William George, Gumblegubbin, leasehold, Narran River
William, junior, of Bundabarina, heasehold, Bundabarina, Barwon River.
NSW ER 1878 THE GWYDIR
John FORISTER of Mureadool, residence, Barwon River (Walgett PD) (Yes, the spelling of the surname is as per the printed roll) I could not find any with the surname Forrester or similar for the Walgett PD) and no sightings of the surname KELLER either.
I know that the electorate of The BOGAN covered some of the Walgett PD, so have checked there too.
NSW ER 1870 THE BOGAN
Checking only the Walgett PD entries .... none for Forrester or Keller or similar.
NSW ER 1878 THE BOGAN
Checking only the Walgett PD entries .... none for Forrester or Keller or similar.
Are the details about Isabella and her parents drawn from her NSW marriage registration?
I cannot seem to find her birth registration or death registration for a Roderick FORRESTER via NSW BDM online. If from her marriage certificate, what information did she provide about herself, and her parents at the time of her marriage.
Cheers, JM
-
Qld BDM online has a death registered in 1937 for Isabel Enid SMITH, with parents as Roderick FORRESTER and Louisa KELLY. #B34611.
Perhaps our Moree Cemetery looker upper should check for KELLY as well.
I will re-check the Electoral Rolls for KELLY.
Cheers, JM
-
Grevilles 1875 Wallgett
NONE for Kelly.
NSW ER 1870 THE BOGAN
Albion KELLY, residence, Corinda, Walgett PD
William KELLY, residence, Corinda, "
NSW ER 1870 THE GWYDIR
Henry KELLY, of Milroy, residence, Bokhara Creek, Walgett PD
John KELLY, of Bourke, leasehold at Bokhara Creek. "

NSW ER 1878 THE GWYDIR
Daniel KELLY of Mogil Mogil, residence Barwon River, Walgett PD

At an online submitted tree there is the image of the death registration for Isabel Enid SMITH.
It has Isabel as born WAGGA, New South Wales
It has Isabel as married Maclean, NSW at age 22 years to Henry James SMITH
It has her parents as Roderick FORRESTER and Louisa KELLY.
#34611
16 February 1937
Diamantina Hospital, South Brisbane
Isabel Enid SMITH, Widow Female, 60 years
Buried Lutwyche Cemetery 17 February 1937.
TWO Informants, one the Clerk of the hospital, and the other named and noted as her daughter, who in Feb 1937 was aged 31. There was also a living son who was aged 34.
ADD
NSW 1903 ER MACLEAN
Ined Isabel SMITH, of Maclean, domestic duties. (Yes :) Ined is the spelling on the printed roll)
Cheers, JM

From NSW BDM online index
Isabel E FORRESTER married Henry J SMITH, marriage registered Maclean District, in 1902, The ref No. #1550.
An Official Transcription will include all the same information as on a real deal NSW BDM certificate. Official Transcriptions are a cheaper option, and they are already transcribed.

Thanks so much for your searching of the Moree Shire Cemeteries Internments and others...
It has been over a decade looking for the illusive Roderick Forrester and Louisa Evelyn Keller (Kelly) and their child Isabella Enid Forrester (Isabell) . We have the original certificates for Isabel Enid Forrester and Henry James Smith marriage and Isabel's death certificate as well as original birth and death records of their children. We have followed their life through electoral rolls and Henry's war records. I have also viewed the original parish record of the marriage in Maclean and visited the area and local historical society.
Below is a summary of birth places of Isabel from:
Isabel Marriage Cert: Isabel born near Walgett, Queensland
Isabel Death Cert: Isabel born Wagga, New South Wales
Son's Birth Cert: Isabel born Walgett, New South Wales
Daughter 1 Birth Cert: Isabel born Mogil Queensland
Daughter 2 Birth Cert: Isabel born Murray ??? New South Wales (in crease of page)
There are places in the Warrego District called Mogal Mogil Station and Mogilla Creek - both in north western NSW and Qld border.
I am researching also the Forrester family that explored, settled and owned multiple properties in north western NSW and Qld border. I call them the Windsor Forrester's because that was where they established themselves from convict ancestry. Information of this family group is readily available to look at on-line - newspaper articles and notices give a more personal touch to their lives. William James Forrester (Red Bill Forrester) (1841-1913) was quite a character out there. These are the Forrester's on the NSW electoral roll you list.
The question of illegitimacy has always been there because of lack of any formal documentation for Isabel and her parents.
Still hoping to find Louisa Evelyn Keller (Kelly) and Roderick Forrester somewhere?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Janet

Hi Maggi, I'll be in Moree for a couple of days, arriving tomorrow. Will see what I can do for you. If I can get plot numbers I'll go see if there are headstones and take photos if so.

I went to Moree council and there is no public access to the burial register. They said they have no idea how someone could have a copy of it.
They mentioned a cost may be incurred for them doing look-ups.
So, if you need to know if someone is there, it is best to email the Moree council directly.
Jamjar
-
Perhaps they should have a look at their own publication ::) ::).
http://trove.nla.gov.au/version/38422883
Copies held in book form at two libraries.
Bit of a cheek to charge for a look up then.

Yes, and you would think then that they would have a copy in their own library.
