Title: Marriage of Sarah
Post by: Suzy W on Tuesday 11 May 10 02:02 BST (UK)
Hello again

Who did Sarah Tew marry.  I was told someone by the surname of Stramer.  Sarah was born 1799 Leire, so we will be looking for records about 1825.
Have not found any reference on the I.G.I to the marriage.

Also what ever happened to Charles born abt 1817 and George Tew born abt 1805 Leire (Her brothers).  I did not come across any census records for them unless the spelling was wrong.

Cheers

Yes Mike that is the right George and Charles.  I wonder if they were transported as well as their brother Edmund?
Funny how they have both fallen off the planet.

Sarah sorry can not give anymore than what I have, but apparently she does show in the 1861 census along with her sister Mary Blockley, I have not got a copy of this census yet to look at the spelling of the married surname of Sarah.

Better get kids ready for school.

Thanks again Mike.

The Blockelys I can not place with any I have.  I know for sure Mary Ann was buried at St Mary's parish, and her husband buried at Lutterworth Union.  They had a son named William in 1830.

I presume the burial of Sarah is in a grave of non related people?

Strange no marriage has came up for her.  I wonder if it is a second marriage?

All very good, little steps with this part of the family.

Cheers

Hi Suzy W
I have family connections - still searching before hopefully a visit, in Leics, and found the www.leicestershirevillages.com an excellent site, with some very useful information regarding the village of Packington.  Type in your village in the bottom right box and see what comes up.  I found someone's very hard work in an excel spreadsheet of all marriages and christenings for Breedon on the Hill.  A few answers in there that helped save time when I do manage to get to the records office, or the Library which holds almost all the details within the area I am interested in.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were other angels like this in other areas??
Hope you find it of interest

I have been a member of Leicestershire Villages for some time.  A few old postings on there regarding my Tew family in Leire.   And I was lucky enough to find a man living in Canada who was a relation.   Sadly no links to parish records for Leire, that is why I pest "Mike from Leicester" all the time   ;)
I hope I do not out welcome my stay Mike?

Anyway still no sign of Sarah's marriage or her brothers, how very odd.

Regards
Suzy W

Sadly that is not her, she would of been 16 years old in 1815.  Then I thought maybe her Aunt Sarah born 1781 Lerie, but no she was 34 in 1815 not 25 plus I think this Sarah stayed a spinster.
A bit of a puzzle isn't she?  Then again the whole family on this side are proving to be a mission.

Thanks again Mike.
