Can anyone point me in the direction of an 1851 census return with Edge Street, Hulme on it please?
I want to see where it is in relation to other roads.
I'm trying to find the right parents for Thomas Jones ::) just got a new birth cert today and am following up the info on it.
Thanks

For 1851, I could only find an EDGE YARD in Hulme - next to Duke street on the census sheets. At that time, houses were being thrown up and Hulme was expanding rapidly. Maybe Edge Street wasn't there in 1851, but was within the next few years?

That's fab. It's shown me Edge St is quite near Hamilton and Howard Street. Could be useful :)

Hi,
I'm new to this, i came across this post on google while trying to find where Duke Street was in Hulme as it pertains to a marriage certificate I have just received.
I too have the family name Jones it was my nan's maiden name and I have just received her grandparents Benjamin Jones and Mary Hoyle's marriage certificate in 1868 and apparently they were both residing at Duke Street Hulme at the time of the marriage. Benjamins fathers name is Thomas Jones and was wondering if we are looking for the same family.
Regards Dee
