Title: Vic BDM Lookup please - TIPPETT
Post by: newbe_nz on Tuesday 04 May 10 08:26 BST (UK)
 Hi there,

I am trying to find out if Alfred TIPETT/TIPPETT was married or died in Victoria.

His parents are Mark TIPPETT and Ellen VOWELS.

Alfred was born in Auckland, New Zealand on 23/12/1874

I can find no marriage or death for him in NZ

This is the link to the NZ thread

The National Archives site shows 2 soldiers who give father Alfred TIPPETT as NoK.  One served in WW1 (he was 19 in 1914 thus born about 1895) so it's possible - born in Wangaratta and father still there in 1914.   The second soldier served in WW2, shows a birth of 1917 in Bendigo  :-\  Unfortunately the record is not yet digitised.

http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx

Electoral rolls show an Alfred TIPPETT, woodcutter and Ethel May (home duties) at Wellsford, via White Hills near Bendigo in 1919 and 1924.  I assume they are the parents of the soldier.  Whether it's your chap is another matter.  I don't see this person on later rolls, although there are two Ethel May TIPPETTs on later rolls - one in Bendigo.

Hi, I did a check using the two spellings that you gave for Alfred.  I searched the Victorian marriage indexes up to 1920, and didn't find him.  I also searched for his death in Victoria,  but I'm afraid no luck.

Unfortunately, there are probably lots of different ways Tippett could be spelled, or mispelled.
