I am tracing the family of Edwin Barwick. His father was Charles Barwick who married ann both born circa 1835.Children to this marriage were Edwin Catherine George Julie and Arthur.Charles father was also a Charles Barwick who married Mary both born around 1802. Charles the ist was born around Malden Bedfordshire.Chalres the Snd and George were both billiard makers from the census info I have been able to find.
Any one knowing anything about these people any info you could give would be greatly appreciated. I am in australia and am willing to try and locate any info required regarding convicts sent out here.

Hi,
Welcome to RootsChat, hopefully you will find this site most useful as I have.
From looking at the censuses, if I have the correct one then Edwin's mother was called Mary Ann. There is a marriage for a Charles John Barwick to Mary Ann Larner 2nd July 1855, St Paul's Church, Parish of Camberwell. Charles' father was Charles Barwick, Greengrocer and Mary Ann's father was Richard Larner, Coal Merchant.
On the 1881 census the family that you have described has a Mrs Looner, Mother in Law (could have been mis-transcribed) living with them so the above marriage looks right.
I see that Charles is shown as born in France, perhaps LDS may have his birth.
Hope some of that is of help.

This may be the Baptism Record for Mary Ann Larner - 29th Sep 1833, Holy Trinity, Clapham, Lambeth, Middlesex.
Father - Richard Larner, trade - Labourer
Mother - Catherine Larner. (Hansby)
The location and father's name ties in nicely. The year of birth is slightly different than declared on the censuses but I know from my family tree that people have been a bit 'economic' with the truth as to their age, especially if their husband could be younger than them.

1891 census Charles has his Mother Mary Barwick age 90, born c 1801 Peckham living with him and his family. He is a Waiter/Inn
RG12/481/80/9
This is the only possible I can find in 1861;
RG9/354/83/27
Charles BARWICK, 57 (image could be 59), Head, Mar, Clerk, born Clophill, Bedfordshire
Mary, 59, Wife, Mar, born Fishlake, Yorkshire
Geo H, 21, Son, Unm, shopman, born Calais, France
Harriet F, 18 , Daug, Unm, Seamstress, born Calais, France, Cripple
So they would possibly not appear on 1841 and 1851 Census.
Possible Marriage from IGI;
Charles BORWICK
Mary HIMSWORTH, 24 December 1830, Thorne, Yorkshire
Charles BARRICK
Birth 07 December 1801
Christened 04 January 1802, Clophill, Bedfordshire
Parents, JOHN and RHODA
Now Charles Jnr names his daughter born 1871 Julia Rhoda Barwick so a possible connection.
