I have a Thomas Adnams married to Jane??? I have been trying to find a marriage for them without success. Have searched all parish records on line
On the 41 and 51 census they live in Liberty of Sonning, Berkshire. Janes name misspelt as Irva in the 51 census.
Their children were born in Bradfield, Berkshire and I thought I could order a childs birth cert as one child was born in 1840. I have searched for Charles Adnams born 1840 but the only one I can find was born in Alverstoke - is this likely to be the one?
I would be happy to buy parish records but could someone advise me as to which ones I would need to purchase.
Thanks for any help and advice you can give me

IGI doesn't cover the period you're looking for in Bradfield. Sorry I don't have the Bradfield CD, but someone may be able to check for you and see if they are there, rather than one of the other parishes in Bradfield RD.
Bradfield PRs are available on CD from Berks FHS price £10.35 (http://www.berksfhs.org.uk/berksfhsbooks/ParishRegistersBerksFHS%20CCE.htm)
Bradfield St Andrew and Methodist Chapel (CD)
Includes: Bradfield: Baptisms 1539-1962. Marriages 1559-1989, Burials 1540-1952 and Banns 1799-1980. Methodist Chapel: Baptisms 1873-2002, Marriages 1921-2006 and Burials 1908-2006.
Adnams is a very common name in West Berks, so I doubt very much he's the Alverstoke one.

Jane is a bit old to have been the mother of the 1-y-old.
1841 does not give relationships. I suspect he would be a grand-son, and no use for your maiden name.

Thank you both for your replies.
I agree that Jane seemed a bit old for a 1yr old. There seems to be a big gap between the first 3 children and the last 2. I never thought of grandchildren.
I will order the Bradfield parish records - thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
