Post by: andrea_mc on Tuesday 20 April 10 14:40 BST (UK)

sarah channer ( nee Elbourne)is on the 1911 census in abbots langley
with son inlaw and married daughter
Richard Coleman and Elizabeth Coleman
Aged 79

i was wondering if the death on BMD april/ june quarter 1921

of Sarah Channer transcribed as Aged 39 is  in fact  sarah channer aged 89

thank you
it was just a thought

i can find no sarah channer born 1882 ( or a married name)

the 1911 census shows sarah  channer ( elbourne ) as the only sarah in hertfordshire
and i can find no record of her death

it took me a while o collect all the channer records from the GRO books
before they went on line

i suppose she might have married

thank you  it is two  of the mysteries i have to try and piece together .

i will probably get the cetificate and find out who she was

I agree with you - I did the same checks on previous censuses and also looked for male Channer marriages to a Sarah between 1911-1921 - there were none

Although the GRO index confirms the freebmd entry - that doesn't mean that the original GRO index entry was correctly transcribed.
