Can anyone help me with more information about Christopher Mcauley

Born in Emyvale Monaghan in 1778
Married to Martha ? unknown date   Martha  1781 - 1841
Occupation in 1840 listed as painter & decorator

Children:  Christopher b Glaslough County12 May 1803
                 Elizabeth  b ?

Son Christopher emigrated to Sydney Australia in 1842 on Ann Milne with wife Elizabeth Thexter and 8 children!!

Any help would be appreciated about Christophers parents or where I might find more information

Hi,

The Griffith Valuation lists a Christopher McAuley, Town of Emyvale.   At about 1860, that's well after the dates you're interested in, but it may still be an avenue worth pursuing to see if there was a common ancestor.

There was a Rev James McAuly listed in the 1796 Flax Growers register for Muckno, Monaghan.

Church records for Monaghan are not available on-line.  In any case, your dates are probably before the records that do exist.

Research in Monaghan is not easy . . .
