Hi
I am researching the Garrood family from Eye, Suffolk.
I have Sophia Emily (or Emily Sophia depending which record you look at) Garrood who was born in Eye in about 1845.
Would be interested in hearing from anyone else researching this family

Hi Leofred
Been a while since I ws on here and not sure if I responded to your last post?
Who are your Jermy's in Norfolk? That's where mine are from too.
-
Hi Ferret,
My greatgrandmother was Caroline Esther Jermy born in 1865 Yarmouth her father was William Jermy b1838 Wroxham
His father Benjamin Jermy b 1808 Wroxham .
His father was Benjamin Jermy 1780 Salhouse.
They go a lot further back than this and there is a website where I was able to link my Jermys with theirs.
Let me know if there is a connection or you want any further info.

Hi Leofred
Ann Jermy was my 7x great grandmother and was born in 1699 in Hainton, Norfolk. I can trace the family back to Thomas Jermy who was born in 1200.
I dont have any of the family members you mention but it is an unusual name.
Have you read the details of the murder at Stanfield Hall, which relates to the family?
-
Hi Ferret, have you seen this site http://jermy.org/ and yes I did know about the murder, did you know a film based on this was called Blanche Fury starring Stewart Granger and Valerie Hobson.
I was told Jermy is a common name in Norfolk.
-
Hi
Yes I've seen the website but didn't know about the film - will try to find it.
I wasn't aware that Jermy was a common name.
-
Jermy and variations are found in Norfolk and Suffolk ;)
