Title: Parents of Margaret Jane Todd
Post by: brimarge on Wednesday 14 April 10 10:00 BST (UK)
I have found her birth 1850 on the Bishop Trans for St Helens, Durham page 690
parents are Frank or Mark Todd and Mary or Margaret Elizabeth Bowron (2nd opinion please for Frank or Mark) but I have not found the marriage.

1851 cen cannot find any of them

1861 cen Margret Jane Todd is living with her grandparents, George and Jane Bowron RG9 3713 4 1 543176. (1851 cen mother Jane not at home!)

What happened to the parents

At the bottom of the search panel, using the 'old search'.
In 1851 they are indexed as 'Lodd'.

In 1871 they are indexed as Todd.

Thanks everyone

Have found them on 1881/1891 as well, Mark died in 1895 and his wife lived to 97.

I am researching this for my sister-in-law, who lives in a small village of 20+ houses, she is not from that area only coming to live there because of her husband.

I have found  that by a great coincidence, her GG and GGG grandfathers were born in the village she now lives in.

I have yet to tell her, what a surprise
