Title: Ambleside burials pre 1854
Post by: Parmesan on Saturday 10 April 10 21:31 BST (UK)
I believe St Mary's in Ambleside wasn't completed until 1854, so if you died before that date - 1851 to be precise, where are you likely to be buried.

Thanks.

Hi,

There was a previous church, dedicated to St. Anne, which dates back to 17th century. Part of the township of Ambleside was in the parish of Windermere, and part was in Grasmere, so you could try either of these 2 churches (assuming C of E).

Ambleside burials pre 1854.
Does anyone have access to the burial register for Ambleside? I am looking for a burial of Ann Birkett, died 18th Dec 1854 at Skelwith bridge. Thanks.
