Title: Ann's Maiden Name?
Post by: BridgetM on Saturday 10 April 10 18:25 BST (UK)
I just received the birth certificates of two of the children of Owen Kelly and Ann ??  One child was born in 1839, the other in 1851.  Both were born in Mt. Pleasant, Liverpool.  On one of the certs Ann's maiden name looks like: Kelooken.  On the other it looks like: Kelleher.  Ann was born in Ireland, so perhaps the registrar couldn't understand her accent?

Does anyone have any idea what Ann's maiden name really was?

my guess is you are right and it is the accent. They have a Kelleher lodging with them in 1851 also.

First one looks like Kelocken but you are right - the accent might have been difficult...and Kelleher seems to fit
