Title: Thomas Joseph Butler b 1911
Post by: jen1984 on Monday 05 April 10 14:15 BST (UK)
I am trying to locate details of my grandfather Thomas Joseph Butler who was born 23rd March 1911.

I have looked on the BMD records but none of them match and I have an idea that he may have been born in Ireland.

Thomas married Eleanor Bateman in February 1934 and they lived in Hulme.

I would be very grateful to anyone who has any information on my grandfather.

Thank you.

Jenna

Index to Irish civil registration is online (free)-
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=collectionDetails
Search for Thomas Butler then refine results by date (1910-1919) and first name (j).
1911 Irish census is online and he should also be listed there- although as a baby he might not be listed by full name). His marriage certificate will list his father's name and occupation which might help you find him in the census.

Hi again,
Just located the census form with thomas joseph on. I'm pretty certain as his father was Patrick Butler who was a whitesmith by trade.
And low and behold there is a partick and mary butler in Co. Dublin with a son Thomas Joseph 3 weeks old as the census is dated April 2nd 1911 makes it very conclusive.

Many thanks all
