We're off ancestor hunting in Wiltshire at the end of this month and were wondering if anyone is familiar with Mildenhall. What we really want to know is do Folley Farm and Lucky Lane still exist and, if so, can anyone point us in the right direction regarding location? We believe The Knapp has been demolished but, again, would be interested in it's location.

Just a thought, but if you have been unable to find a Folly Farm in the Mildenhall area today, might this article in "British History" show a name change for the property you seek?

There also appears to be a general location for Lucky Lane in the above article - hope that helps!

Hi Rachel
Many thanks for pointing out that article. I have had a look and yes, it mentions Folly Farm (which is now Forest Hill Farm) and Lucky Lane, so that has been really useful.
Thanks again for your help!

Hi, may I ask why you are looking for Lucky Lane in Mildenhall Wiltshire? Only because my Grandfather grew up in Lucky Lane..

I'm not too familiar with the area, but I've found Folly Farm on this map, if that is of any use - you can zoom in/out and also overlay the present day map. https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16.5&lat=51.41609&lon=-1.69962&layers=178&b=1 (https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16.5&lat=51.41609&lon=-1.69962&layers=178&b=1)
The only other piece of information I can offer (if you're not already aware) is that Mildenhall is pronounced "Mynall"!

......and I've now only just noticed that this is s resurrected ancient thread, so my info above was probably far too late!
