Looking for a connection between the Sandbach family from the Tarvin area and the Neild family from Manchester area in the 1700s, could be though marriage but not sure, can anybody help.
-
John married Anne Hampson a widow whose maiden name was Dickenson, and had 8 children one of whom was Elizabeth b 1814. She married William Sandbach at St Boniface in 1831 and had 15! children and my grandmother Ellen was the youngest born in 1856, Adam Sandbach m Elizabeth Hodgkinson, son William Sandbach m Elizabeth Arrowsmith, daughter Mary Don't know if this is any help to you but I have come across the Sandbach name several times in the Challinor Arrowsmith family history. Regards Chris.
-
I have information about the Sandbach and Neild families also. I am doing a one-name study of the SANDBACH surname and have been in contact with several people who have information on this link.
I would love to be in contact with both of you regarding your connections here.
Please let me know if I can help with this link or anything else associated with the SANDBACH surname.

Hi Chris
Thank you kindly for the info, I'm trying to put this together, if you can give me more info on John and Anne, it will help me a great deal, My Great-grandfathers sister married into the Sandbach family, cutting a long story short, I'm on the Lewis side of the Sandbach family, now I have a relation living in Canada who is on the Harrison side of the same family, a little complicated but I will not bore you with this, but together we have a very large history of this family, now you may well ask,? were does Neild fit in, well my relation in Canada has a family bible dating back to the 1700s and there is the Neild family in this, but we couldn't find a connection, so with your help we can find this connection, we believed that the connection started in Manchester with a Roger Neild because this name is mentioned in the Bible in 1705, but maybe we are wrong, so Chris can you help use a little more.
Question? do you have a connection with the Neild family.
Regards Ivor

Hi Ivor, I am already a member of "My Heritage" on the Palin side of my dad's family, so I haven't added to the tree it was all done for me.It's a small world really when you look at the family relationships. There are a lot of Sandbach names of the Cheshire family history site, have you checked those out to find your Neild connection ? Regards Chris.

Hi Chris

Hi
I'm piecing things together, am I right in saying that you are Susan Sandbach Mellet?, I have just sent you a message on UK surnames.
Regards Ivor
-
Hi Ivor no I am not her, I am Chris !! did you get my last message about the website ?
-
A very interesting website which takes in the Sandbach family and is really very interesting with lots of photos and well worth a look, even if you're not completely connected is www.cragun.com/leanne/. Leanne's ancestor travelled to America with two aunts on a boat with a Mormon and when she arrived she went with him to Salt Lake City and they married. The girl was Sarah Bebbington and he husband had more than one wife and lots of children. As I say, a very interesting website even if you don't have a close connection
-
Hi Chris
Sorry I was answering the previous email from Mellettandassoc, Thanks for the last info, I will have a look.
Many Thanks Ivor
-
Yes, Ivor, I am Susan Mellott and I got your other email also. I have looked a little at my data but need more time to review it to see if there are any matches for you. Chris I am certain I have matches for you, but need to look a little more there too.
-
Hi Susan, thanks for the information look forward to getting it sometime, we have just moved house so most of my stuff is packed away still. Thanks, Chris.
-
Hi Ivor I don't think my other message was posted the Cheshire family history is on the left hand side of the Cheshire BDM site and they have a list of names with contact e.mails for areas and dates. I have had quite a lot of luck there or you could post your Neild name and see what happens, Chris.
