Hi Tessie,
If you give me the name of the person you wish to look up I will see what I can do , as I have just come back from Bermuda and I have access to the 19th century church register of bermuda, so i will give it a go for you.

The surname is Hockin and the Christian names are Edward and Richard.
Only one was born in Bermuda and I believe it was Richard
Thank you

Hi Tessa,
I found Richard for you.
Dockyard ( Ireland Island) Baptism's.
Richard John Hockins baptised on 15th December 1824, parents Edward and Jane.
unfortunately they never put the names on the birth certificates until 1866, so as my friend said out there if you were born before 1866 you didn't exist.
Hope this is of some help.

Oh my goodness that is amazing.
Thank you so much for finding that info on the Hockins. Obviously no mention of Father Edwards employment out in Bermuda. A stonemason in a dockyard?
intriguing......
They were obviously back in Devon when the birth of Richard was registered.
Thank you again. I will send this info on to other Hockins in the family tree.
