Title: Waring
Post by: toejamie on Friday 26 March 10 00:33 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

I posted some time back my knowledge of my ancestors, who apparently came from the Waringstown area (dates approximate):

Brothers:
1) James Waring (b. 1820) - emigrated single to Canada <1843

2) Henry Waring - stayed in Ireland, his children emigrated 1870-1880:
a. Margaret Jane (1840)
b. Mary Ann (1844),
c. *John (1848)
d. James (1849; likely emigrated 1880 with wife Bessie and son Henry)
e. Elizabeth (1856)
f. Alexander (?, stayed in Ireland).

*family lore states he asked Lord Waring for permission to leave and received some money.

We recently found evidence that Henry's children were born in Ballymena and that there was another brother who did raise his family in Waringstown:

3) William Waring (1 Mar, 1827)
a. James (1843)
b. Sarah Anne (1844)
c. Mary Anne (1847) - married John Noble, emigrated to Canada
d. David (1849) - emigrated to Canada
e. Elizabeth M (1852)
f. William (1854)

The parents of these brothers may have been Holt Waring (1806, presumably not the Holt Waring) and Mary Armstrong. Hope someone recognizes this family. Thanks!

Hi,
There are Waring manuscripts listed in RASCALS (Research And Special Collections Available Locally) website.
The Warings mentioned in them are from Waringstown.
