Where I might get a copy of a marriage in Lastingham in 1797, probably a Hardwick, but anyway who will have it..please.........mick

				Dear Mick
Try genuki and look for the Rosedale indexes which include Lastingham. There are loads of Hardwicks.

Try Hugh Wallis' IGI batch website that enables you to search parishes by surname at

 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm

which explains how it works. Lastingham is covered at

 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyYorkshire_%28I-L%29.htm#PageTitle

Unfortunately only one Hardwick appears (in 1811) but if you are not sure of the name, there are other search modes that allow alternative ways of searching. I have found this very useful for parishes where there are LDS transcripts such as this one.

Thanks I will run with info as soon as, at mo trying to recover from a duplication of a family on my tree on ancestry, it is proving a bit of a nightmare, the ripple affect of putting another copy in because the way all are linked trying to find the right ones to delete...aarrgghhhh....sob..sob

Hi Mick I have a digital copy of Lastingham parish registers I couldn't find a Hardwick marriage in 1797 but if you have anything else to go on I can check again and maybe have a look through births and deaths too...Sue
