Martha Ellen McKean b1876 Ballarat, Victoria, Australia is said to have married E.C.Harsant in Durban in 1905 but nothing more known of this family. Any clues please? Martha was one of 7 children to Peter McKean and Martha Leigo in Victoria.
Cheers,
Matthew.

There are estate records on NAAIRS for them, indicating that they died in the Transvaal:

One other thing I wanted to mention... As you'll see on those estate files, I often find that the name 'Helen' and 'Ellen' get used interchangeably on official documents from various sources.

Thank you Tygerr, thats teriffic.
I often find the niddle name evolves over time too.
The last two digits in the reference number, are they the year?
Cheers,
Matthew.

Yes, that's the year. Also referenced in the 'STARTING' and 'ENDING' entries.
So Ernest most likely died in 1942, and Martha died three years lately in 1945.
