Hi all,
I am looking for Henry Waring, the brother of my gggrandfather James. I have queried around Waringstown w/o success, but family history says Henry and his children lived near Ballymena, and PRONI has some promising records in Kirkinriola parish.
The family is:
1) James Waring (b. 1820) - emigrated single to Canada <1843
2) Henry Waring - stayed in Ireland, his children emigrated 1870-1880.
Margaret Jane (ca. 1840), Mary Ann (ca. 1844), *John (ca. 1848), James (c. 1849; emigrated 1880 with wife Bessie and son Henry), Elizabeth (ca. 1856), Alexander (?, stayed in Ireland).
*Family lore states asked Lord Waring permission to leave and received some money. According to the timeline, that would likely be Rev. Holt Waring, Dean of Dromore.

and PRONI has some promising records in Kirkinriola parish.
If you have already checked particular records, it would be helpful to know which type etc to save duplication of effort. For example, on familysearch, I can see an Alexander Waring born c 1837, son of a Henry Waring, marrying a Margaret Jane Johnstone in 1861 in the Skerry/Racavan area, but perhaps you already have this info.

Thanks Scotmum, quite right.
More specifically, grateful for a lookup of any births surname Waring in PRONI for the parishes mentioned above, c. 1800-1850.
I was told there were births at PRONI corresponding but have not seen them. I have the marriage of Alexander from familysearch.
Thanks!

Civil registration of births started in 1864 and for earlier dates you need to search church records for baptisms. Perhaps this is what you mean by "PRONI has some promising records in Kirkinriola Parish"?
