Title: Looking for information about the Dragon Hotel Welshpool
Post by: WOxGenes on Monday 22 March 10 09:34 GMT (UK)
I am looking for information about the Dragon Hotel in Welshpool (not the one in Montgomery). In particular, who the owners were in 1915 – 1916. I am trying to establish if there is a family connection with Fred Bowen who gave that as his permanent address on his WW1 records. His daughter was also born there (in 1916).
Thank you

Hi

Yes, he was single then and a groom working at Powis Castle. He married in London in 1912 and during WW1 was a Red Cross ambulance driver in France. He gave his address as Dragon Hotel Welshpool. His daughter Morva was born there in 1916. So it looks as if they lived there for at least 8-9 months in 1915-16.

Thanks
