Title: John WINSON at the Old Bailey
Post by: WOxGenes on Monday 15 March 10 12:22 GMT (UK)
John WINSON age 28 (could be 23 or 21) appeared at the Old Bailey on July 16th 1811, on trial for Larceny. Result: Acquitted.

I would like to find out more about the trial. Can anyone tell me how I can get hold of more detailed records, ideally online, please?

Many thanks

If you go to http://www.oldbaileyonline.org/ and do a search on his name you should find a transcript of the case. Site appears to be down at the moment though.

Hi Ian

Yes, I tried that site and also the National Archives but no luck. Still, following your message I have revisited the Old Bailey site and found a contact address. I will contact them and see if they can shed light on our missing (but at least innocent) ancestor.

Thank you  :)
