I've been trying to look up Wedgwood Street,Siddick,Seaton,Workington on 1891 census but can't find it. Has anybody got any suggestions, please? I know it exists 'cos just got a birth certificate for 1892 and that was the place of birth.
Thanks
Chris

Oops! Sorry, didn't read your post properly :-[
It's just called Siddick, Seaton - as you can see there were only a couple of streets.
Find Alice COOPER 20 and you will be there.

what was the name of the parents on the birth cert
we might find them in 1891 and maybe they are at the same address as on the birth cert
-
I can't see it in 1901 either (or 1881)

Thanks for all your help. I found various nos. Siddick.Does that mean there was no Wedgwood Street mentioned?
The birth cert I have is a family secret I didn't know about i.e. an illegitimate birth but wondered why it was 18 Wedgwood Street as the family weren't from Siddick as far as I know. The person who gave birth was living with her family in 1891 census so I thought maybe I might get a clue as to the unknown father if I found who was living at this address abut this time.
Thanks again

Siddick appears to be just a couple of rows of houses - which don't appear on the 1867 map at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/IndexMapPage2.aspx so perhaps weren't built by 1881.
Here are the houses on nearby Senhouse St - perhaps those on Wedgwood St were similar http://tinyurl.com/yhlom2s

Geoff, havn't time to follow your leads but my first thought was Siddick is on the coast near Northside and Seaton is up't'hill from Maryport. Are there 2 Siddicks?

Hi Bob
I doubt it ... the one with Wedgwood St is the one near Seaton north of Workington. (see earlier links I gave)
As it happens, I drove past Siddick yesterday - just a couple of parallel rows of houses. :)

Geoff, you're right, I'm confusing Seaton with Dearham. There used to be 4 rows of houses but they demolished the front 2 at Siddick when the pit closed.
