Title: Peterborough baptism lookup
Post by: bookendart on Tuesday 09 March 10 03:20 GMT (UK)
I'm hoping someone can help me find the baptism of Henry Peach in Peterborough around the year 1835. His parents were Charles Peach and Mary Noble, and they baptized six or seven children in Peterborough between 1818 and 1835.

Thanks for the help  :D

I have looked on my Northants baptism index there is no baptism for a Henry Peach circa 1835.
There is only 1 for a Henry paech and that is in 1818.

Sorry ???

The Soke of Peterborough [now part of Cambridgeshire] is not included on the baptism cd.

Hi Claire.

This is the link to the Society Marilyn noted.

It has not been up-dated since August 2009.

Also the Library might be able to help if you send them an e-mail.

Thanks for the links. I tried several different email addresses and they were all rejected and many of the links failed  ??? I'm just not having luck at all with poor Henry!!

You are most welcome Claire.

I just managed to pop into the Library and list them down for you.

Strange about a Peter on the 1841 Census and no Sarah though
as 1st child was certainly named Charles so maybe called Peter
so as not to cause confussion with Father.

And Sarah bless her may of died.

I did not have to time to check the Burials.

Maybe someone could do it for you if you need the information.

I think Sarah must have died, because there's no mention of her on any census. I don't know what to think about that first Charles however. The fact that a second Charles born in 1830 bothers me a bit. Charles and Mary married in 1815, and all the later census records have Peter's birth year as 1818, so I wonder if he was baptized somewhere else. Maybe the first Charles died before 1830 and they named the next son after him.

Well again Sandy, thank you so much for your time, I really appreciate the help!!!

Claire  :)
