Title: Help to confirm baptism date for Thomas Foreman from Tonbridge, Kent.

Hi,

 I am new to RootsChat so apologies if this is not the correct forum to post this query.
  I’m trying to find out when an ancestor, Thomas Foreman, was born. From the 1841 and 1851 census, I  know he was born in Tonbridge, Kent, but the two ages quoted, give a date of birth as either 1790  or 1781.
  From the Tonbridge parish records, I’ve found that there is a possible baptism record for about 1790 and one for 1781. What I would like to know is if there are any other records available that I can look at that may help me confirm his baptism date?

remember that the 1841 census gave age rounded up to nearest 5 years, whereas 1851 gave actual age - maybe that might help decide - otherwise you will need to browse the baptism and burial records at records offic e

Are you still looking to sort this out Mallory?  If so, have you sighted the marriage of Thomas and Sarah to see if the names of witnesses give any clues and have you looked at the burial registers to see if either of the Thomas' died young?  Do you know the age on death of your Thomas ....... just thinking that might be more accurate?
