Did you find an answer to your question?  My great great grandfather was born there in 1868.  I have no idea how to find any information about him prior to 1906 when he came to the US.  I would love HELP

Hi  Jadzia and Jamiemet,

don't know where you can look at the census, but there is a East European Genealogical Society who might be able to help you:  http://www.eegsociety.org/Home.aspx

If your ancestors were German you can look here:   http://www.galiziengermandescendants.org/

Good luck, Peonie

Hi Jamiemet,

Someone told me it was in Warsaw, in the state archives. I haven't pursued it though, because I'm going to Warsaw later on this year, so I thought I'd postpone it until then.
