I am trying to locate this house in Thornton (picture located at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442416.0.html ). Is it still there?

Greeting’s & Welcome. ..Jill.
Going on Census returns for Bembridge 1871 ~ 91.Thornton
There's a Thomas son of William & Jemima Bembridge
living on Main Street Thornton.

Looking at the census returns, the house seems to have been at the northwestern end of the village, near to the school. There are still a good number of older houses all along the Main St in Thornton, though I can't say whether this particular one is amongst them.
You may like to look at this website:

the picture on the oopening page is of main street, looking north-west towards the end of the village, and there's a copy of an ordnance survey map of 1885 on the site.

Thanks for your information. I think the photo was taken after Thomas left Thornton so maybe it is a relatives house. I'll have to go back to the village and check it out.
