Post by: scooby on Sunday 20 March 05 19:21 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out about my nans side of the family.
Sadly I didnt know my nan, but I can give you what I have found.

Norah Cubbins was born 1923 and married Hurbert Morris Evans
Ruby born ? married Harry Jones
Rita born ? married Arthur Henshaw
Margaret born? married Bob Jones, Rita/Margaret Twins.
Fred born 1932 married Kitty
Jean born 1932 married Ernest Dillingham Fred/Jean twins
Shelia born ? married ? moved to Austrilia many years ago.

I believe their parents mighthave been called George and Caroline.
I am not sure if Caroline was a McMurry and they were from Scotland.
Its not a lot I know but I dont know any family members.

Thank-you
 ;D

Hi Scooby
               Welcome to rootschat.
As the first census we can look at is the 1901 its debateable whether your nans parents would have been born then so the first thing you need to do is to find and purchace a marriage certificate for them, this will give us thier ages addresses full names and most importantly the fathers names.
I have got you started by looking up the marriage on the https://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/index.html This index is also available free at most county libraries and the General Record office as well as family history centres (LDS)

The details are Frederick Cubbins/Caroline Mcmurray 3rd quarter 1922  volume 8a page 1445 Birkenhead

Once you have the details from the certificate or if you have any problems ordering it from the web site above get back to us.

good luck
