Could SKS please provide me with a transcription for the family of Richard Major STOKES who in 1851 seems to have been in Yeovil?
It looks as if Richard's mother Mary (born about 1811) may also have been in the household at the same time., along with his brother Thomas Charles STOKES born in about 1838.
Any help as to family relationships would be most gratefully received.
Thanks

Thank you very much for this Pauline.
Since Mary is shown as married' rather than divorced, is there any sign of her husband George STOKES in 1851? Also, can you spot this family in 1841, perhaps also in Somerset, or maybe in Bristol where Henry seems to have been born?
In any case, thanks so much for this very helpful look-up.
Kind regards
Philip

Hello Philip,
Sorry I can't find the family in 1841 - George is with the family on the 1861 census
do you have this info?
