Title: david craig born 1821 ayrshire
Post by: golfer53 on Wednesday 03 March 10 00:09 GMT (UK)
Could someone please find for me the marriage of David?
His father was William and his mother was Elisabeth. They lived in Kilmarnock. He is in the 1841 census at home, but by 1851 he had gone.
Many thanks,
Mavis

Mavis :)
Not sure if this is your guy,  I worked backwards from a death for that name and birth year.
David Craig  master hatter 74 yrs. died Oct 28, 1894 Blythwood,  Glasgow widower of Helen Buchanan. Lived at 342 Argyle Street, Glasgow. Parents were William Craig-hatter deceased and Elizabeth Craig m.s. Murray deceased. Died from disease of the kidneys, dropsy. Scotlands People GROS Data # 644/07 0398

So then looking for marriage, David Craig & Helen Buchanan August 20, 1847 St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh Scotlands People GROS data#685/002 0460 0324

Not sure if these are correct but........

Hi Mavis

Are you looking for the David Craig who is shown on the 1841 as a "steamer ap" with father William who is a handloom weaver??

I wonder if you know for certain that he did marry or perhaps where he might have died?

Best wishes
Jean
