Hiya,
I've done all I can do with this huge family and am trying to take one step backwards from the above James (who married an Anne Harry on 20 April 1838) who was a shoemaker. If anyone is able to look on the 1841 census, or has access to any earlier details that could reveal the identity of his parents, I would be very grateful.
Thanks again
Mads

hi mads
james henry was my g g g grandfather, his parents were - rees henry b.1786 in llanarthney and charlotte b.1786 carmarthenshire.. rees' father i believe was a william henry b.1761 but this is not yet confirmed.
in 1841 they lived in a cottage named bigefryn, in 1851 they still lived in the same cottage but now named abergefryn, they remained in the same cottage untill at least 1861, by 1871 they had moved to the nearby property of llygaid yr haul, james' son john henry my gg grandfather remained at abergefryn but by 1881 had moved to penllydiad, all these properties are in the now village of capel seion near drefach, carmarthenshire. in fact llygaid yr haul and abergefryn still exist. if you google abergefryn you will find photos of it as it is now and a photo taken circa 1900 which shows it as a thatched cottage, unfortunatly the people in the photo are not the henry's as they moved on some 30 yrs prior.
as for Ann harry ,her parents were david harry b.1786 and mary b.1891. both born in carmarthenshire, in 1851 they lived at cwmbach in the hamlet of trecastell (present day foelgastell)
let me know if you need any other info.
regards
martyn.

Wow, Martyn
Coming up to 6 years since I wrote this post - have done a massive amount of work on, and finished, the Henrys since then, but thanks so much for getting in touch, it's always appreciated!
