Title: Marriage Doncaster: Mitchell - Lidster

Hi

Please would someone help with a marriage look up for me?

I have a marriage for Frances Lidster and Thomas Mitchell in Doncaster, 12 March 1812, info from IGI. I don't know their ages at the time - the only info I have is that at the 1841 census their ages were both given as 40 (rounded down) and they were born in the county.

If anyone has access to parish records, please could they see if there is any more info regarding these two? I've reached a bit of a wall and would be most grateful for any further help!

Hi   If you had a bit more info ie where they may have been living at the time of the marriage it might help. Otherwise it's going to be difficult tracing a church out of all the churches in the Doncaster area. Where were they in 1841?   Regards Trevor

If emberry is asking for a lookup of a marriage located on the IGI for Doncaster, then it would be St Georges PC.

 In St Georges burial records for Doncaster, there is an entry of ..... MITCHELL Thomas .. Trade:fire engine man Buried: 26 sep 1849 .. age: 58 .. Address: Whittaker St .. Died 26 Sept. I have added a bit here .. the actuall entry is .... "MITCHELL Thomas fire engine man 26 Sept 1849 58 Whittaker St d: 26 Sep"
 This may or may not be your Thomas ... but the age would fit, I believe

Hi,  I have had a look at the Fische of the entry of marriage for these two ( it's not a very good scan) and it does not provide any details of ages etc. The marriage was by Banns which were read on Feb 16, 23 and the last date is not readable.  Both persons made their mark in the register ( ie could not write),  and there was a witness called Martha PICKERING.  Hope that is of use to you.   Regards Trevor
