You can view David Rose's death certificate on Scotlands People and this should tell you the name of his parents.   I have not got any credits left but doing a search brings up just 1 David Rose died in 1907.

Hi Nikitah

Having looked at the census David is shown as born circa 1825 in Inverness itself.

The 1841 Census - Chapel Street, Inverness, Invernesshire

David Rose      45   Baker
Alexr. Rose      20   Baker
Magt. Rose      20
Sarah Rose      15
John Rose        15    Clerk
David Rose       15    Clerk
James Rose     14
George Rose     7
(all shown as born in Invernesshire plus remember that ages were rounded down in 1841 Census)
+ 2 female servants
+ 2 male Bakers Apprentices.

Only able to view a transcript.   Looked like David senior's wife had already died.  Then checked the IGI on familysearch and  found:

Alexander Rose bp.11/11/1818 Inverness, son David Rose and Sarah Ormiston.
Margaret Rose  bp.22/6/1820               ditto
Sarah Rose bp.24/4/1822                      ditto
John Rose bp.6/1/1824                         ditto
David Rose bp.12/10/1825                    ditto
James Rose bp.20/6/1827                     ditto
George Rose bp.27/8/1833                    ditto

Cannot find the marriage of David Rose and Sarah Ormiston on that site though.

The 1851 Census showed David senior was bc.1793 Kirkhill, Invernesshire and found:

David bp.2/1/1793 Kirkhill son of John Rose and Ann Fraser

and also found:

Sarah Ormiston bp.6/1/1794 Inverness, dau. of James Ormiston and Margaret MacBey.

Hopefully, the death certificate of David Rose in 1907 should confirm these were his parents.

Good luck.

Annette

1851 Census - Boleskine, Invernesshire (Ref. SCT1851/20)

David Rose     28     b. Inverness
Mary Rose      26     b. Boleskine, Inv.
Margaret Fraser   sister in law 30   b. Boleskine
Mary Fraser  sister (? think transcription wrong and should read mother in law)
                64           Formerly Mason's wife       b. Dores, Inv.
Margaret Fraser   niece    14      b. Boleskine

Think this is Fraser family in 1841 (your Mary and sister Margaret not at home but could well have been working as servants somewhere).

1841 - Tomvoit, Boleskine & Abertarf, Inv. (Ref.SCT1841/92)

Mary Fraser     50     Poor
Alexander Fraser  20  Ag. Lab.
Janet Fraser  20
Margaret Fraser  5
John Fraser  20   Ag. Lab.  (all born Invernesshire)

IGI shows:

Simon Fraser and Mary Fraser married 19/11/1803 Dores, Invernesshire

Children - all baptised at Boleskine:

John bp.30/11/1805
Margaret bp.14/3/1810
Hugh bp.1/9/1812
Alexander bp.5/3/1815
Thomas bp.7/4/1817
Janet bp.12/10/1819
Catherine bp.15/3/1822
Mary bp.25/7/1824

The death certificate of Mary Rose in 1870 clearly shows her parents are Simon Fraser, mason (dec'd) and Mary Fraser, m.s. Fraser (dec).

I note you cannot view David Rose's death certificate for 1907 so you need to order that because only on here will you find the details of both his parents.   You cannot take dates given on census as exactly correct unfortunately.   You could hypothesise forever about which David Rose baptism is the correct one - in this instance only his death certificate will confirm it for you.

Hi Nikitah,
I have just found this thread. I have have Mary Fraser and David Rose in my tree, I'm wondering if you have found out any more? Janet, Mary's sister is my 2x g grandmother as far as I know, I can't seem to get any Fraser DNA matches to confirm I'm on the right track. Do you have a tree on Ancestry?
Marg

Hi Marg, good to hear from someone in  this family line, I haven't done much for while and as you are probably aware , there are that many roads leading to the Frasers then they stop   , I don't have a tree on ancestry, my son did a dna with them that made it even more confusing. I have lots of evidence from scotlandspeople  I will see what I have , as far as the line for David Rose and Mary goes there aren't many survivors. I will get back to you soon . nikitah.

HI Marg, I have Janet Fraser Marys sister born12/ 10 1819 daughter to Simon Fraser,  mason  in Tomvoit and his wife Mary Fraser at Boleskine. Janet was present at the death of her sister Mary Rose , when Mary died age 45 11 December @ Farraline Marys father Simon Fraser mason dec' and mother Mary Fraser ms Fraser also dec. Do you have Janets death after 1870 if you do it should also tell you her parents, My Rose family all seem to have worked at Farraline  David as master gardener and Mary as housekeeper / cook, is it possible Janet lived and worked in the same area  have you found her on any census? ie in 1881 she would be 62 give or take a year possibly working in service . If you already have all this can you let me know, Don't take anything from anyone elses tree unless there is evidence. Take care nikitah.

Hi Marg, It certainly looks like your on the right trail . My son isn't on ancestry he was given the dna test for Christmas, I might add that he isn't a Fraser he is descended from Jessie (Janet ) Rose  daughter of David Rose and Mary Fraser so the Fraser line is a bit diluted, he is on holiday at the moment but I will ask him if I can share it with you. Have you found a death for Simon Fraser Janet and Marys father?. many thanks nikitah

Hi Nikitah,
I'm still looking, so far the only Simon I have found married to Mary Fraser was a minister, I also haven't found Mary's death as yet. He had to have died at least before 1851.
There are a few on Ancestry one has him dying in Australia (which I doubt) The others at a much later time. Will keep looking.
Marg
