I found a Jane Arundel in the 1851 census.

She is 23. Born in Newcastle on Tyne and living in Sheffield. She is a shoe binder and living with a family called Shaw. She is listed as a lodger.

Could this be your Jane?

 ;) Ted

Hi Ted...Thank you for your help...Yes that is my Jane Arundel living with the Shaws....She married my Gr.Gr. Uncle Charles Gunstone Apr. 1853,,,I just sent for Marriage Cert and it says her Father was Richard Arundel (deceased) a plane maker...Jane was born in Northumberland 1828...and died 1863 Sheffield (in child birth)...My problem is I cannot find anything on her Father Richard....That could not be his death in 1854 unless records are wrong by one year...I am assuming he was born in Northumberland too....I appreciate your help Ted ...If only I could find Richard on a 1841 Census !!!! Kind regards Carol...

Hello Carol

Can't find anything on the 1841 census or in Northumberland, but have found a Richard Arundel in Yorkshire and says born York, occupation Planemaker, that's on the 1851 & 1861, but nothing after that (he appears 10 years younger than your Richard i.e. born 1815).
I haven't posted the details in case you think it's the wrong person, let me know.

Mike
