Hi
Really need more details - Morrison is not an uncommon name in Scotland and "the 1800's" can be anything up to a 100yrs
In which part of Scotland did the above marriages take place and what years
Who emigrated to the USA - Thomas & Ann or Margaret & Thomas - or both
When did they emigrate
When was Andrew Carnegie born and where
[Ref. Tef72]
what is this ref

There is a record of Thomas Morrison marrying Ann Hodge in Dunfermline on 22 November 1892 (OPRs)
The GROS data reference is 424/ 0100 0403
No idea if it is the right marriage, but it seems to be the only one. No record for those 2 names after 1855 that I can see
Note 26 Feb: see I managed a typo - as the postings below say, it should read 1802

Thank you!

Thomas married Ann 22 Nov 1802, they had 6 children, 3 girls emigrated to the US. Margaret Morrison born 1810 married William Carnegie, Andrew Carnegie their son was of course the US steel magnate.
I have other details on this line if I can be of any help.

Thank you for your response. Someone in my group is researching this family and would like to know information about the Morrison relatives who immigrated to the US. You mentioned that there were three who immigrated, but that they were all girls.
Do you have their names, birthdates, etc.?
Where in the US did they immigrate to?
Did any of the girls marry and if so, who?
The only one that I have info on is Margaret.
Thank you!

Hi
The Morrison Family are well documented in Carnegie's books and online. The 2 sisters were twins born 1812, Ann married a Thomas Aitken and Catherine married a Thomas Hogan, I am sure census info will give you everything else.

I am a descendent of John Morrison who emigrated from Dunfermline (through Glasgow) to USA in late 1860's, also a descendant of Thomas Morrison. John (who was my ggrandfather) was a jockey in the northeast, eventually settling in north Alabama. I would like more information on this branch of my family tree.
