Title: Joseph Fitzgerald-Arrived New York 1922
Post by: yaya* on Tuesday 23 February 10 16:21 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

Looking for a Joseph Fitzgerald, who was born in Carlow, Ireland in 1905 - I have found a record of a Joseph Fitzgerald on board the "Cedric", sailing from Liverpool to New York on Oct 02 1922 but the ship manifest does not give any further details, other than name, age etc, therefore I have not been able to verify this is the same person.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated - I know his father was John Fitzgerald and his mother Margaret if that helps anyone.

Thanks
YaYa*

Hello YaYa

I can see the SS Cedric entry you refer to but it seems to say Joseph Fitzgerald was born in Brooklyn. New York 29/12/1905. As per anc...try - Joseph Sheridan the one above is crossed out.
I will check for any other.  ;D

There's one entry under US citizens for Joseph that was crossed out, so he may have been accidentally listed twice.  Since the only one that wasn't crossed out has him being born in Brooklyn, that's not your guy.

Ah, thanks for that Shellyesq - I was wondering why that had a big line through it!  ::)

Thanks for checking that for me though. To be honest, it was a bit of shot in the dark anyway - we know he was born in Ireland but we think he emigrated later on but we have no info on where or when!

Sometimes, being crossed out means the person didn't actually sail on that ship, but with a person with basically the same info on another page, I think it was a duplication.
