im having major difficulties finding info on Theophilus Rowlands, i have his marriage cert -he married mary Anne harris in glamorgan in 1865, his father is named as isaac rowlands (farmer).
i have him on the 1871 census (penarth) with his wife and 2 children , from that i get his year of birth (1840) and where he was born (camarthan town)
the only births i can find in 1840 ish in camarthan town are for :-
evan - 1840
owen - 1841
william -1841
now im thinking that owen may be the best candidate (lots of owens in the family) so i was going to order the birth cert - but i need the GRO ref and cant find it !
all help and advice is much appreciated

the printing on the page for the page number is very hard to make out i think it might be 27
if you tell the GRO i would think they could send you the cert with the info above

Further to Wozzle's entry above I had a look at the scan at FreeBMD - the district seems to be carnarvon - volume 27 - put a search in the site for carnarvon and not carmathen and there is i think a different scan of the same page and it looks to me like Carnarvon vol 27 299 as transcribed for that district.
The scan under carmarthen is very difficult to read but the district to me looks to be without a "t" or an "h" which makes me go for the carnarvon entry rather than carmarthen...........sorry!
