It might help if you could enlarge it a little......But I think it says William Hinnisley or something. Sargeant Mariner Deceased.
and the other bit is Ann Hinnisley

Are the family from Kirkcaldy Xin? If so, Gadget's interpretaion of the surname might be on the right track. ;)

Yes Carol GADGET GOT IT I had a clue as to the William Himsley but wasnt sure re Annes maiden name
thought it was maybe Churchman or Buchanan Now I KNOW its another joined up bit..for my tree..
YEA and yes they are from Kirkaldy
