 i  am  researching  a  book  and  need  to  find  out  the  name  of  the  militia quartered  in Ballaghadereen Barracks  Co  Mayo  approx 1800 . There  were  approx 92  soldiers  and  4  officers,

Hi xandra,

Sorry I don't know the name of the Militia at Ballaghdereen around 1800. I know there was a North Mayo Militia and a South Mayo Militia at that time but don't know where they were stationed.

Thank  you  Christopher, perhaps  someone  out there  will  have  a  specific  interest  in  military  history of the  1800s in  iRELAND  and  the  answer  may  come  to  us .
