Title: Isabel Findlay McKay born 1900/01 Ferryden, living Edinburgh on 1901 census
Post by: holly129 on Saturday 13 February 10 13:09 GMT (UK)
Looking for any info on Isabel F (Findlay) McKay born 1900/01 Ferryden, Angus, and 1901 on Edinburgh census at 9 months old. Parents James Davidson McKay born Edinburgh and Jessie Pert born Ferryden. In her early adult life she was probably "kicked out of her home by her mother because she got into trouble" and her name not mentioned again. Do not know if she married in Scotland or maybe crossed over to England (London)? and maybe married there?

Hi

Have you checked Scotlands People for a possible marriage www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

If she possibly married in England then this is the website you need to check http://freebmd.rootsweb.com  Transcriptions cover to the early 1930's

I have no more info on Jessie Findlay Pert but I do have info on her ancestors if you need it.  Jessie's grandfather, James Pert, was the brother of my Great Great Grandmother Helen.

Let me know if there is anything you need.

Thanks for replying. A bit of info on the Perts would be nice. All I know is that they came from a fishing family - is that right?
