Hi all
I have hit a bit of a brickwall with my ggggrandfathers family who I know came from Chester.
George Allmark, b.1839 in Chester and christened at St John the Baptist was the son of Robert and Sarah Allmark.
I have found George on the 1871 census living as a lodger in Crewe, however there is no trace of his parents.
Would anybody be kind enough to see if they can see any trace of this family in the 1841/51/61 censuses?
They were likely to be living in the St John the Baptist parish in 1841 as George was baptised in 1840.
Any help is gratefully received!
Thanks
Karl

Hi Karl
I have found them in 1851 minus Robert who it seems died in1849. I have searched the same area in 41 and 61 but did not find them, sorry but Chester is to big a search without a name index.
1851 HO107-2172-F 254 Trafford Street St Oswald Chester
Sarah Allmark head widow 31 pauper born Mollington Chester
George son 11 scholar Chester
Hannah daug 6
Robert son 4
Catherine daug 1
?? Lloyd female lodger 30
Thomas Lloyd lodger 10
Elizabeth Maddock lodger 38 straw bonnett maker Chester
Can I suggest that you search the http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/ to see if you can pick up Sarah either her death or another marriage maybe ?
hope this helps

Thank you - I now have access to the censuses on Ancestry, if there is anything I can do in return, just let me know.
