Hi,

I have a James Mulvahil whose father was Thomas (Tommy) - all I know is they originated in Ireland and moved to Cape Town South Africa.
If you know of these folk?????? I wld love to hear from you.
Am so stuck with them.
Thanks Jen

Hi Jen
I don't have a James or Thomas in our family tree but that's not to say they aren't related but unfortunately Mulvahill/Mulvahil/Mulvihill is a fairly common name in Ireland in the 1800's   The irish records aren't that great and probably the only way to really find records is by going there.    I am in Australia
   Happy Hunting

Take a look at:

www.clarelibrary.ie

and go to the "Genealogy/Family History" section

where you'll find a massive amount of useful information, mostly on Clare families.  All free too.

Happy hunting.
