Hi
Only the indexes are on-line - you would need to write to the Archive to get copies or perhaps there is someone you know who could go there for you.
The Web site is known as NAAIRS the search page is at
http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm300dl
The contact address for the TVL archives is
TAB National Archives Repository (Records of the former Transvaal Province and its predecessors as well as of magistrates and local authorities)
Postal address: Private Bag X236, PRETORIA 0001.
Street address: 24 Hamilton Street, Arcadia, PRETORIA.
Tel: (012) 441 3200. Fax: (012) 323 5287
Email: enquiries@dac.gov.za
I have had good success with getting records from the Cape Archives - the main problem is that it doesn't cost much and its difficult to transfer such small amounts to their back accounts. I rely on my Niece to pay it for me.
If these are proper death notices they should give you the parentage and the children of the persons.
You won't find much on the migration records in South Africa - I don't think they kept them. I am battling to find when my Gr Grandparents went to Sa from AUS , unfortunately the AUS records don't include those emigrating.

Hi Margmasson,
Just wondering how you are progressing with your information search. I think I may have some of the information from South Africa and wonder what your interest is.
Kind regards
Margaret

Hello Margaret,
Thanks for contacting me. Would be interested in any informatoin you may have. My interest is: G Grandmother Julia Gough married a Daniel Muldoon. One of their children was "Daniel" The children from this marriage seem to have disappeared after about 1890. I know we are probably grasping at straws, but anything is worth a try.
Regards
Marg.

Hello Marg
Thank you for your response. Daniel Gough Muldoon was the son of Julia Gough and Daniel Muldoon. There were two other children who died in infancy and possibly another sister. He married Annie Elizabeth Killiard in Australia in 1891 and they had two children. He was in South Africa in 1900 and joined Thorneycroft's Mounted Infantry, then transferred to The South African Constabulary. In South Africa he had two children by Edith Ellen Cornell. He died in 1921 in Germiston which I think is near Johannesburg.
Regards Margaret

Hi.
My great grand father was Daniel Gough Muldoon. Married to Ellen Edith Cornell. My Grandfather was the second son of this marriage Guy Dion Muldoon.
My Great Uncle would have been Roy Cornell Muldoon.
Any history on Daniel Gough would be much appreciated , I know he had a brother the 2 of them where out in Australia as young children/adults .
I am told they came over to South Africa with the ships bringing wattle but I could be wrong.
Latter in life, Daniel Gough was a miner in South Africa.
But yes please any more info would be greatly received.
Regards.

Daniel Gough Muldoon was born at Sale Victoria, Australia, 1865. His parents were Daniel Muldoon and Julia Gough, both born Ireland and married at Tarraville, Victoria Australia, October 30 1858.
Children of this marriage were: Jane Mary 1859 - 1904. Bridget 1862- 1863, Michael 1865- 1866, Daniel Gough 1865 - 1921, John James 1867 - 1893. Jane Mary married, but I don't know if she had any children. John James is a bit of a mystery man. I can't find a birth or death cert for him.He was a witness at Daniel Gough's marriage in 1891. A small death notice in a paper has his death in Sydney in 1893, aged 25. At some stage in the late 1890's, Daniel Gough went to South Africa. We know he was in the Boer War. Hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please ask. If I can help I will be very happy to do so.

Margmasson.
Thank you so very much for the info, it has been a great help. As Daniel Gough was my Mothers Grandfather. Nice to know where they came from we always thought it must be Ireland. Do you happen to know the name of the village or town in Ireland ? Just for interest .
Never knew about all the other siblings ether.
I was only ever aware of Daniel Gough & a Brother. We where always lead to believe the 2 brothers where in a home (looked after by the church) One brother would work send money back to pay for the other brother, then they would swop rolls. But left as soon as they could no dought to join the Boer war. (This I did know about)
But thanks again.
Have a good day/evening. Best wishes.
Regards
Kingsmile.
