Title: 1891/1901 census help please COMPLETED THANKS
Post by: Dale on Sunday 07 February 10 09:15 GMT (UK)
Hi
I am trying to help a friend solve a mystery! ???
There is a birth for Florence Emily SJ Matthews Edmonton Sep 1879.
We have a cert for a Florence Emily Matthews marrying in 1916 aged 30 with a father named Henry a grocery manager.

I am hoping she might be found in 1891/1901 with her family and an age!

In 1911 she said she was 31 but at marriage 5 years later she says 30!

If we can solve this one we''ll move to her husband which is even worse!
Many thanks
Dale

Hi

Perhaps you could give the birth details from the 1911 census so we have some indication of where on that census she states she was born. Edmonton registration district covered a wide area.

Hi
Thanks for your replies!
In 1911 Florence E. Matthews states she was 31 born Woodgreen Mdx.
At marriage 1916 she was 30, married 6 years. Father Henry Grocery Manager.

I "guessed" at the 1879 birth but the father in 1881 appears  to be  Charles.

In 1911 she had two children James 1905 and Florence 1907 both born Laindon Essex.
Cheers
Dale

Hi

The 1901 census can be searched on occupation. I can't see any Henry Matthews of about the right age with an occupation similar to grocery manager.
