Title: Help with lookup for Crimean War Medal Please

Following another post to this group earlier this week, Ken suggested I try to find if my ancestor was on the Crimean War Medal roll.

If someone has access to the Roll could you please see if there is a John Hedges, born Froxfield, Wilts, c 1823. He was with the 49th Foot Regiment.

I am also wondering if his brother William born c 1826 might have also been with the same regiment.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried the Regimental Museum at www.thewardrobe.org.uk Give them a try. The Museum is located at Salisbury

i,ve found  john,s service record for the 4o th of foot age at attestation 18 yrs 5 mos - attestation date 24 nov 1841 private  army no 2019 if you want them i,ll need your e mail address so send me a pm but if you don,t want to do it i won,t mind , also looked for william and the nearest in date is for a william b 1847 ramsbury wilts ist reg of foot guards
