Title: St Lawrence Little Stanmore
Post by: Jennifer A on Tuesday 02 February 10 12:40 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out if there are any grave stones or monumental inscriptions for the Hone family burials at St Lawrence Church. Little Stanmore.  George Hone c 1739 Wheelwright married Mary Dormer at St. Botolph Aldgate 27/12/1768 they had 12 children baptised at St.Lawrence between 1769 and 1790, at least seven children died before the death of Mary who I think was buried 11/8/1808 and George was buried 1/4/1824. George born 9/8/1787 son of George and Mary
was also buried at little Stanmore 24/4/1831.

The London Westminster & Middlesex FHS have produced a transription and index of the MIs for this church, available on microfiche

It's in interesting church too, if you ever get the chance to visit. Rare example of English Baroque, with box pews. And Handel played the organ there, allegedly.

Thanks Mean_genie, I hope to visit St Lawrence latter this year, the problem is I don't have a micro micro-Fiche reader and getting to the Library is difficult at the moment as I don't have a car and mobility is somewhat limited. Thanks for the information anyway. I'll just have to wait till I can get there.

London Westminster & Middlesex FHS no longer produce this fiche and are hoping to bring the St Lawrence MIs out as a booklet in due course. Why don't you contact them via their website to ask your question there? https://lwmfhs.org/
