Hi
I am looking for help with the Griffiths family, daughter Ann[e] born 1826 in Kilgerin, her father was John Griffiths mother might be Mary. Ann[e] married John Price who came for Radnor, they were married in 1854 Merthyr Tydfil.
I am trying to trace the Griffiths family her parants etc, back further

2 possible families in Cilgerran in 1841 with an Ann aged 15. No relationships given on 1841 census, but the possible fathers would appear to be Thomas or John.
Possible from 1851
Knwcke, Cilgerran, Pembs HO107/2481 folio 291 pg 20
John Griffiths head widower 34 mason
Anne sister 25 housekeeper
John son 13 mason
Daniel son 10
Thomas son 8
James son 5
Mary dau 2
all born Cilgerran
Do you have the marriage cert to confirm father's name & occupation?
Has the birth cert now arrived for James to confirm his mother's maiden name? There are plenty of John Price/Ann marriages registered Merthyr Tydfil.

Thank you for the help, I have put the order in for the marriage and birth certificates for James and John, but live outside of the UK so will take 3 to 4 weeks for them to arrive. When they do and if they are the correct ones I will have more information.
Thanks again

Thank you to the last post, I am afraid that I have not moved much further on with this line as life has gotten in the way. I am working on all the family chains including my husbands, so I tend to rotate them when I come to a dead end. I will keep this message and when I get the right information I can add you to my tree.
Thanks, Sue

An Ann Griffith (no 's') was baptised at Cilgerran in 1830, none before.
I note only one Daniel Griffiths baptised in Cilgerran and that was in 1856 to John & Mary Griffiths. Although no age given one wonders if he was baptised aged 15 yrs, quite common.
I note two Mary Griffith buried pre 1841 at Cilgerran in 1825 and 1828, which would be a problem fitting in with the children of John of the 1841.
As to a mrge the best I can come up with is
John Griffiths a Prisoner held at Haverfordwest Prison, Haverfordwest Castle who mrd Mary Williams of Newport at Haverfordwest St Martin 01 Oct 1822.
(Note The prison is of course now the Record Office, at least until next year)
20 Aug 1824 John Griffiths of LLwydchurch mrd Mary Price at Llanycefn.
