Does anyone know where I might find the specific date(s) a townland was surveyed?
I have had a look at all the sites and none seem to show this.

I may be quite wrong about this and I'm sure I will be corrected if that is the case.
The survey was carried out over a period of time and the results were printed in a book. I don't know what sites you have been looking at but the one I always use for Griffiths is:
http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_start.php
If I look at the 'Details' from the index page it seems to indicate that Griffith surveyed the area twice. If I look at the 'Original Page' I notice that the same date is printed at the bottom of the townland. Is that the actual date that Griffith walked down that particular lane? Probably the best estimate we will ever have.
In truth, I guess there is no definitive answer to your question.
Why is it so important to you?
Dara.

The date listed with each entry is the date of publication for that volume, and the properties included were usually surveyed about 4 to 6 months earlier - see these notes from an Eneclann researcher : http://www.eneclann.ie/research/research_tips_griffiths_valuation.html
..just the year of publication is listed on the AskAboutIreland records, the full printing/publication date is included on the details on the OriginsNetwork website.

Oaks and Shane - Thanks for the reply. I have not yet seen the site referred to by Shane, but I certainly will look.
The reason it is important to me is that I have two distinct families I am looking at as great-great-grandparents. The first was a marriage of John Kerns and Elizabeth Anne Quin in Loughgilly parish, Armagh, in 1851. John Kearns is listed in Griffiths as living in Ballydogherty, Loughgilly Parish, Co. Armagh (same townland as given on the marriage certificate.)
As I began my research, the only information I had about my great-grandfather stated he was born in Gilford (Co. Down), but claimed Armagh as his home county. A few weeks ago, I obtained immigration documents where my great-grandfather's birthplace was listed as "Lock Gillie", so I have some confidence that John Kerns/Kearns was his father, but, also that Gilford was part of the family geography.
The family left NI for Johnstone Scotland when my great-grandfather was about 10 years old. No explanation for the move found. In Scotland, I discovered a brother and two sisters' marriage - their father, John, was dead by 1877.
Also recently, I received details of a birth of a William James Cairnes to a John Cairnes and Betty Quin registered in Banbridge in 1865. I also found a death registered in Banbridge of a John Cairns. It occured in 1872 in Gilford.
The date(s) of the Valuation of Ballydogherty, Loughgilly Parish when John Kearns is listed could help me establish when (if these John Kerns/Kearns/Cairnes/Cairns are connected) the family might have left Ballydogherty for Gilford and where I might look for birth details for additional children.
Thanks again to both of you.

OriginsNetwork is a subscription website, and the website is : http://www.originsnetwork.com/
One detail worth noting is that, for a variety of reasons, not everybody will necessarily be listed on Griffiths...

James Ryan's book "Irish Records" gives dates for Griffith Valuation for each County.
He gives 1864 for Armagh. (and 1863-64 for Down)

Only the Head of Household are recorded in Griffith's Valuation
