I am trying to find information on George Campbell Moffat. George was born Dumfries in 1926.
His parents were William & Christina Moffat. He appeared to be in Dumfries up to 1970. Information from valuation Roll.
Unable to find out if he married.

This is the website you need to search for a possible marriage

Hi,
I have done this, but there are no marriages for George.
-
Is the valuation roll the same as an electoral roll? I'm not familiar with Scottish terminology
If it is - won't the full entry show other residents at that address who were over 21yrs old
-
Think it was the Electrol Roll and only shows the owner of the house, name.
It appears he stayed at this address after his father died in 1961 until 1970.
Thank you .

There is a marriage for a George C Moffat and Mildred F Hardy in Cumberland in Apr/May/June 1947
Also a death for a George C Moffat in Wandsworth, London Oct 1986 aged 60

Hi ack,
Would explain why I couldn't find him on Scotlands People. The age at death fits in, as he was born 1926.
Getting his marriage certificate would confirm his parents.
Thank you for this.

Hello - George was my great uncle (my father's mother's brother). Would you like information on him from me? I was with him when he died and I rented a flat from him in his house in London, and I knew him very well. Kind regards.
-
Hello Chastewhite,
I would appreciate any information on George. George's father - William Mein Moffat was my Great Uncle and his sister Janet was my Grandmother. I shall send you a PM.
Regards

Oooh, how exciting - a distant relative! There aren't many people left on my dad's side of the family that I know of! I will send you a PM this evening.

I have written of Reginald Tupper Carnegie in connection with his prewar flying. Do you know anything of his wartime service (if any) and date of death.
-
My grandad Reginald Tupper Carnegie died on 7th December 1972 of cirrhosis of the liver but I know nothing of his flying I'm afraid :-(

Many thanks for your prompt reply
