I would be grateful if a member could look-up a Dublin Directory published after 1863 and before 1880 for one Henry Davis, solicitor , and Dublin Coroner in the period 1850 to 1864 [ and maybe later ]. He resided at St Johns Donnycarney and had offices on Wellington Quay and Upper Ormond Street.
I am trying to determine when he ceased to practice, and from that, establish when he may have passed away.
I believe his demise was about 1867.

in 1877 there's no sign of him, or any other Davis, at the St. John's Tce, Clontarf address, and he is not listed in the index of 'Nobility, Gentry, Merchants and Traders, Public Officers &c &c' section
74 Dame street is listed as
E. Wilkinson, law & commercial stationer & printer
James Davis, solicitor - 1 Sydenham Rd, Dundrum
possibly a relation ?
In 1880, there's a possible listing for James at a new address :
James Robert Davis, solicitor, 67 Baggot street, lower
(his residence details are the same as '77)

Thank you Shane.
This strongly suggests Henry was deceased by 1877.
I have not yet connected James to him but there is a possibility as Henry was the youngest son of the family [ siblings as yet unknown]

James Robert DAVIS, 67 'Lower' Baggot St, Dublin was brother to the poet Thomas Osborne DAVIS (who also studied law, but didn't practice).
His mother Mary ATKINS (and father James Thomas DAVIS- Welsh surgeon - Royal Artillery and died around a month after or before Thomas was born in 1814).
There was also another brother John DAVIS who was an asst Surgeon in the Royal Artillery and a sister, Charlotte-Melina who married John Frederick Ridley (also a surgeon).
... lots of similarities to my DAVIS line with doctors and attorneys... but so far, haven't found a connection.
By the way... Francis Bacon was born at 63 Baggot St, in 1909. Impressive street.
